Subtraction Of Numbers Close To Multiple Of 10

This method is for subtraction of numbers which are close to multiples of 10. However this method can be applied to any number.

Let us understand this method by taking an example.

56 – 48 

Here 48 is written as (50 – 2)

So we can write 

   56 – (50 – 2)

= 56 – 50 + 2

= 6 +2

= 8

So 8 is the answer.
